Wir suchen einen (Senior) Application Software Engineer (m/w/d) mit Leidenschaft für innovative Automatisierungslösungen und einem hohen Anspruch an Softwarequalität, um RobCo zur führenden Plattform für modulare Robotiklösungen im europäischen SMB-Markt zu machen. Mit einer Finanzierung von >50 Millionen Euro von renommierten VCs wie Sequoia Capital und Lightspeed sowie Top-Investoren wie Daniel Dines und Torsten Reil haben wir eine starke Grundlage für unsere ambitionierten Wachstumsziele geschaffen.

Deine Aufgaben umfassen:

Integration & Schnittstellen: Du integrierst komplexe Peripheriegeräte (Kameras, Messsysteme, Prüfautomaten, Steuerungen etc.) in unsere Roboterzellen. Du entwickelst, testest und wartest die nötigen Software-Anbindungen – auch wenn Hersteller-Support, Doku oder fertige Treiber fehlen.
Hands-on Coding: Du schreibst Adapter, nutzt APIs und Integrationsskripte in Python oder der jeweils sinnvollsten Sprache, setzt Tools zur Protokollanalyse und Debugging ein, und bringst jedes Gerät zum Laufen.
Technisches Troubleshooting: Du bist der Ansprechpartner für die Deployment Teams, wenn Standardprozesse nicht greifen oder etwas partout nicht funktioniert – onsite, remote, im Labor.
Projektarbeit: Du begleitest Projekte von Idee über Proof of Concept bis zur stabilen Kundenlösung und arbeitest eng mit Product, Hardware und Field Engineering zusammen.
Dokumentation & Wissenstransfer: Du dokumentierst Lösungen verständlich, erstellst How-tos für Techniker und stellst sicher, dass Know-how im Team bleibt.
Enabler für Innovation: Du bringst neue Technologien ein, bewertest externe Komponenten und gehst ungewöhnliche Wege, um Kunden- und Feldanfragen umzusetzen.

Dein Profil

Du hast ein Studium der Informatik, Mechatronik, Elektrotechnik oder eine vergleichbare Qualifikation abgeschlossen.
Du hast sehr gute Kenntnisse in Python und Erfahrung mit anderen Programmiersprachen (C++ o. Ä.).
Erfahrung in der Integration und Ansteuerung von industriellen Geräten, idealerweise im Automatisierungs- oder Robotikumfeld.
Du findest kreative Lösungen, wo andere aufgeben, denkst in Systemen, bist hands-on und verlierst dich nicht in der Theorie.
Klare, strukturierte Kommunikation und die Fähigkeit, technische Probleme auch für Nicht-Techniker verständlich zu erklären – auf Deutsch und Englisch.
Du hast Freude an der Zusammenarbeit in cross-funktionalen Teams (z. B. mit Hardware, Support, Product).
Du bist offen für Termine beim Kunden und findest es spannend, Software im echten Umfeld zum Einsatz zu bringen.
Spaß an pragmatischer, schneller Lösungsfindung, Lust auf Pionierarbeit und den Anspruch, Dinge wirklich zum Funktionieren zu bringen.

Your Mission

We are looking for a (Senior) Application Software Engineer (f/m/d) with a passion for innovative automation solutions and a strong commitment to software quality, to help make RobCo the leading platform for modular robotics solutions in the European SMB market.

With more than €50 million in funding from renowned VCs such as Sequoia Capital and Lightspeed, as well as top investors like Daniel Dines and Torsten Reil, we’ve built a solid foundation for our ambitious growth goals.

Your responsibilities:

Integration & Interfaces: You’ll integrate complex peripheral devices (cameras, measurement systems, test machines, controllers, etc.) into our robotic cells. You’ll develop, test, and maintain the necessary software interfaces – even when vendor support, documentation, or ready-made drivers are lacking.
Hands-on Coding: You write adapters, use APIs and integration scripts in Python or whichever language best fits the task. You apply protocol analysis and debugging tools – and get every device up and running.
Technical Troubleshooting: You’re the go-to person for our deployment teams when standard processes don’t work or something just refuses to function – whether onsite, remotely, or in the lab.
Project Work: You accompany projects from the initial idea through proof of concept all the way to stable customer solutions, working closely with Product, Hardware, and Field Engineering teams.
Documentation & Knowledge Transfer: You document solutions clearly, create how-tos for technicians, and ensure that know-how is retained and shared within the team.
Enabler for Innovation: You bring in new technologies, evaluate external components, and take unconventional approaches to solve customer and field challenges.

Your Profile

You have a degree in Computer Science, Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering, or a comparable qualification.
You have strong proficiency in Python and experience with other programming languages (e.g., C++).
You have experience integrating and controlling industrial devices – ideally in automation or robotics environments.
You find creative solutions where others give up, think in systems, are hands-on, and don’t get lost in theory.
You communicate clearly and in a structured way, and you can explain technical issues in an understandable way – to both technical and non-technical stakeholders, in German and English.
You enjoy working in cross-functional teams (e.g., with Hardware, Support, Product).
You’re open to occasional on-site customer visits and excited to see your software in real-world use.
You take joy in pragmatic, fast problem-solving, have a pioneering spirit, and strive to make things truly work.
