Deine Mission:

Als Robotics Software & Algorithms Engineer (m/w/d) baust du die Kernintelligenz und Software-Grundlagen, die bestimmen, wie RobCos modulare Roboter sich bewegen, verhalten und mit der Welt interagieren.

Du entwirfst, implementierst und validierst Algorithmen, die im Zentrum unserer Robotikplattform stehen – von Kinematik und Kalibrierung über Trajektorienausführung bis hin zu Systemmodellierung und Echtzeitlogik. Deine Arbeit hat direkten Einfluss auf Leistung, Sicherheit und Benutzererlebnis der Roboter.

Dies ist eine praktische Engineering-Rolle mit Auswirkungen auf den gesamten Robotik-Stack. Du arbeitest eng mit den Teams für Steuerung, Hardware, Simulation und Produkt zusammen und testest deine Lösungen regelmäßig direkt auf realer Roboterhardware innerhalb kurzer Entwicklungszyklen.

Deine Aufgaben:

Kern-Robotikalgorithmen entwickeln – Implementierung und Erweiterung von Algorithmen für Kinematik, Kalibrierung, Parameterschätzung, Trajektorienplanung, Bewegungsausführung und Aufgaben-/Statuslogik.
Roboter-Modelle & Simulation verbessern – Weiterentwicklung unserer Robotermodelle, Testumgebungen und Simulationsinfrastruktur zur präzisen Vorhersage, Testung und Validierung.
Produktionsreife Software entwickeln – Schreiben von sauberem, wartbarem und gut getesteten C++- und/oder Python-Code, der zuverlässig in Echtzeitumgebungen läuft.
Systemarchitektur gestalten – Mitwirkung an funktionsübergreifenden Entscheidungen zwischen Software-, Steuerungs- und Hardware-Teams, um eine nahtlose Integration der Algorithmen sicherzustellen.
Validierung auf realen Robotern – Testen und Iterieren deiner Lösungen direkt auf der Hardware mit schnellen, datenbasierten Feedbackzyklen.
Engineering-Standards erhöhen – Beitrag zu internen Qualitätsstandards, Teststrategien und Prozessen; Mentoring von Junior-Kollegen; Förderung technischer Exzellenz.

Dein Profil

Mindestens 3 Jahre Erfahrung in Robotik, Mechatronik, Regelungstechnik oder einem verwandten Bereich
Praktische Erfahrung in der Implementierung von Algorithmen wie Kinematik, Kalibrierung, Parameterschätzung, Zustandsmaschinen und Trajektorienausführung
Solide Software-Engineering-Fähigkeiten in C++ (Python von Vorteil), mit sauberem und wartbarem Code
Erfahrung in der Integration von Robotersystemen (ROS/ROS2, Hardware-Schnittstellen, Middleware)
Sicherer Umgang mit realer Hardware und Arbeiten unter Echtzeit-Bedingungen
Fähigkeit, komplexe Probleme zu analysieren, Architekturen vorzuschlagen und End-to-End-Lösungen umzusetzen
Stark ausgeprägtes Systemdenken: Verständnis der Wechselwirkungen zwischen Software, Steuerung und Hardware
Hervorragende Kommunikationsfähigkeiten, proaktive Arbeitsweise und Freude an der Zusammenarbeit in einem interdisziplinären Engineering-Team

Your Mission:

As a Robotics Software & Algorithms Engineer, you will build the core intelligence and software foundations that determine how RobCo’s modular robots move, behave, and interact with the world.

You will design, implement, and validate algorithms that sit at the heart of our robotic platform — from kinematics and calibration to trajectory execution, system modeling, and real-time logic. Your work directly shapes robot performance, safety, and user experience.

This is a hands-on engineering role with impact across the entire robotics stack. You will collaborate closely with controls, hardware, simulation, and product teams, and you will frequently work with real robot hardware as part of tight development loops.

Your Responsibilities:

Build core robotics algorithms – Implement and extend algorithms for kinematics, calibration, parameter estimation, trajectory handling, motion execution, and task/state logic.
Advance robot models & simulation – Improve our robot models, testbeds, and simulation infrastructure to support accurate prediction, testing, and validation.
Develop production-grade software – Write clean, maintainable, well-tested C++ and/or Python code that runs reliably in real-time environments.
Shape system architecture – Drive cross-functional decisions across software, control, and hardware teams to ensure seamless algorithm integration.
Validate on real robots – Test and iterate your solutions directly on hardware with fast, data-driven feedback cycles.
Raise the engineering bar – Contribute to internal quality standards, testing strategies, and processes; mentor junior colleagues; champion technical excellence.

Your Profile

At least 3 years experience in robotics, mechatronics, control systems, or a related field
Hands-on experience implementing algorithms such as kinematics, calibration, parameter estimation, state machines, and trajectory execution
Solid software engineering skills in C++ (Python a plus), with clean and maintainable coding practices
Experience integrating robotic systems (ROS/ROS2, hardware interfaces, middleware)
Comfortable working close to real hardware and within real-time constraints
Ability to break down complex problems, propose architectures, and deliver end-to-end solutions
Strong system-thinking mindset: understanding interactions across software, control, and hardware
Excellent communication skills, proactive attitude, and enjoyment in collaborating in an interdisciplinary engineering environment
