Mechanical & Mechatronics Engineering – Robotics (m/f/d)

Permanent employee, Full-time · HQ

Your Mission
At RobCo, we develop AI-powered robotic systems that make industrial processes more autonomous, efficient, and scalable. Our Autonomous Manufacturing Platform combines modular industrial hardware with physical AI, enabling rapid deployment and continuous optimisation in real-world production environments.

With offices in Munich, San Francisco and Austin, and the support of leading investors such as Lightspeed, Lingotto Innovation und Sequoia, we are working to redefine industrial automation.

To further expand our team, we are looking for you as Mechanical & Mechatronics Engineering (m/f/d) with the following mission:
You will be the bridge between digital autonomy and physical action. Depending on your experience level and interest, you will either lead the high-precision development of our modular hardware or prototype the experimental mechatronic systems that teach our robots how to move.

Choose Your Impact Track

We are hiring across two positions. In your application, let us know where you see yourself:

Track A: (Junior) Mechanical Design (The Product Architect)

  • Focus: Build the mechanical design of modular robotic components from initial concept to production readiness.
  • Precision: Create robust designs that balance functionality, manufacturability, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Validation: Plan and conduct mechanical testing to verify performance, durability, and safety.

Track B: (Senior) Mechatronics for Robot Learning (The Rapid Prototyper)

  • Focus: Design and build the teaching devices, camera mounts, and experimental end-effectors used for data collection and tele-operation.
  • Speed: Rapidly prototype mechanical and electromechanical systems, moving from concept to hardware in days.
  • Integration: Ensure electronics (sensors, actuators, microcontrollers) integrate cleanly with our learning pipelines.
Your Profile
  • Education: Degree in Mechatronics, Mechanical Engineering, Robotics, or a related field.

  • Engineering Mastery: Strong hands-on experience with CAD (SolidWorks preferred) and mechanical prototyping.

  • Hands-on Skills: Proficiency in 3D printing, CNC machining design, and workshop tools.

  • System Intuition: Ability to prototype electronics, including wiring, soldering, and sensor integration.

  • Mindset: A pragmatic, fast-iterating approach—you enjoy troubleshooting and resolving complex engineering challenges.

  • Experience: We are hiring across the board; for Senior roles, we look for 5+ years of professional experience and a track record of mentoring junior talent.

Why us?
  • Develop modular, software-defined robotics solutions with us that set new standards in automation.
  • Help build robots powered by cutting-edge AI that perceive their environment, analyze data, and make intelligent decisions in real time.
  • As part of a highly dynamic and fast-growing scale-up, you’ll take on responsibility from day one, drive your own projects, and see the direct impact of your work.
  • Flat hierarchies, open communication, and regular 360° feedback enable fast decision-making and support both your professional and personal development.
  • Your benefits at a glance:
    • Stay active with our subsidized Wellpass membership, giving you access to over 7,200 gyms and studios across Germany.
    • Flexible working hours, a modern office, and—depending on the role—the option to work from home.
    • Regular team events, ranging from relaxed beer & pizza nights on our rooftop terrace to shared experiences like ski trips or the Oktoberfest.
