Robotics & AI Engineering – Autonomy & Physical AI (m/f/d)

Permanent employee, Full-time · HQ

Your Mission

The Revolution: Modular Robotics

At RobCo, we develop AI-powered robotic systems that make industrial processes more autonomous, efficient, and scalable. Our Autonomous Manufacturing Platform combines modular industrial hardware with physical AI, enabling rapid deployment and continuous optimisation in real-world production environments.
With offices in Munich, San Francisco and Austin, and the support of leading investors such as Lightspeed, Lingotto Innovation und Sequoia, we are working to redefine industrial automation.

We are looking for the builders, the researchers, and the systems thinkers who want to bridge the gap between cutting-edge AI and real-world physical action.

Your Mission

As a member of our Autonomy & Learning team, you will shape the core of RobCo’s next-generation robotic platform. Whether you are training foundational models, architecting distributed middleware, or building the evaluation engines that ensure safety and reliability, your work will run on real robots in the real world every day.

Choose Your Impact Track

We are hiring across several core pillars. In your application, let us know where you shine:

Focus Area

Core Responsibilities

Key Technologies

Robot Learning & Research

Developing and deploying SOTA policies (VLA, Diffusion, RL) for robotic manipulation.

PyTorch, JAX, Hugging Face, Sim-to-Real.

Robotics & ML Infrastructure

Building the distributed foundations, ROS 2 middleware, and scalable cloud-native pipelines.

C++, Python, ROS 2, Zenoh, AWS, Docker.

Data & Evaluation Engineering

Owning the ecosystem for model testing, multimodal datasets, and automated simulation workflows.

Python, NumPy/Pandas, Ray Data, Isaac Sim/Unity.

Your Profile

We are looking for engineers and researchers with a "hardware-first" mindset and a background in Machine Learning, Robotics, Computer Science, or Data Engineering.

  • The Architect: You have 5-10+ years of experience in distributed systems, software engineering, or robotics platforms.

  • The Scientist: You have an advanced degree (Master's or PhD) and a track record of adapting academic research into robust, scalable robot capabilities.

  • The Craftsman: You write clean, maintainable Python or C++ and are comfortable working across multiple engineering disciplines.

  • The Evaluator: You are obsessed with rigor, metrics, and building the "evaluation engine" that drives model improvement.

Why us?
  • Develop modular, software-defined robotics solutions with us that set new standards in automation.
  • Help build robots powered by cutting-edge AI that perceive their environment, analyze data, and make intelligent decisions in real time.
  • As part of a highly dynamic and fast-growing scale-up, you’ll take on responsibility from day one, drive your own projects, and see the direct impact of your work.
  • Flat hierarchies, open communication, and regular 360° feedback enable fast decision-making and support both your professional and personal development.
  • Your benefits at a glance:
    • Stay active with our subsidized Wellpass membership, giving you access to over 7,200 gyms and studios across Germany.
    • Flexible working hours, a modern office, and—depending on the role—the option to work from home.
    • Regular team events, ranging from relaxed beer & pizza nights on our rooftop terrace to shared experiences like ski trips or the Oktoberfest.
